Avenue CDC Celebrating 35 Years: 1991-2026

Support Avenue with a Monetary Donation

The next gift you make to Avenue will do twice as much.

Help us reach our goal by December 15, 2026!

Thirty-five years ago, Avenue was created when neighbors came together with a simple belief: strong neighborhoods create stronger futures. Today, that work continues—and you can be a part of it.

For Avenue’s 35th Anniversary, two supporters have committed $35,000 each, creating a combined $70,000 Challenge Match.

Every donation will be matched dollar for dollar until we reach our goal—so your gift can help twice as much.

  • More prepared first-time homebuyers who thought ownership was out of reach
  • More seniors who can age safely in place
  • More parents whose children have stability because housing came first

Since 1991, support from our community has helped Houston families build stable futures through affordable housing, homeownership, financial empowerment, and community investment.

Lives Change Because People Care

Give today and be the reason someone has a front door to walk through.

Thank you for building homes, hope and community in Houston!

The Urgency: The Time is Now

3 out of 4 renters in Avenue’s communities are considered Very or Extremely Low Income, earning less than 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI), under $50,000 for a family of 4.

Few options: For every 100 Extremely Low-Income households in Houston (under 30% Area Median Income), there are only 17 homes they can actually afford to rent.

The gap is widening: In Houston, people earning an average local salary are about $176,000 short of being able to buy a median-priced home.

Where do your donations go? 90¢ out of every $1 donated directly funds programs to strengthen communities.

Your Impact:

Preserving Affordability:

Keeping local rents stable so long-term residents aren’t priced out of their own neighborhoods.

Creating Homeowners:

Providing the coaching and grants that turn renters into generational wealth-builders.

Strengthening Neighborhoods:

Investing in the civic infrastructure that makes Houston neighborly, vibrant, and inclusive.

We can’t wait and hope for the crisis to pass; let’s build the solution today!
